Recycling
Recycling is picked up curbside every Monday, or with the exception of when any holiday falls on a Monday; then pick up will be the following Tuesday. (see the most current recycling schedules below) Borough employees do their best to get recycling picked up on Monday, however there are many factors that may prohibit them from doing so, such as leaf pickup, snow plowing, equipment breakdowns, and employee days off, so leave your bins curbside and they will eventually get picked up.
Cardboard and paper, and co-mingled products, are picked up on alternating weeks, see Recycling Schedule below. Please see the Borough Newsletter for specific guidelines.
Recycle bins should be placed curbside no later than 6:00 a.m. on the day of pickup. Do not put recycling bins in the roadway.
Recycling guidelines are set by the Lackawanna Recycling Center. Please check the Borough’s newsletter and Lackawanna County website for specific information on current accepted recyclable items.
